Vaughan Williams. The Sea Symphony:
This beautiful music captures the sounds of the winds, and the sea, in all its fulsome power, with images of brave sailors, as they explore the vast oceans. It depicts the journey of the human soul, ending with the ship of life slowly and calmly disappearing over the horizon into the unknown.
Vaughan Williams. Five Mystical Songs:
A lovely set of evocative and beautiful haunting songs. Poems written by George Herbert, an Anglican priest, from his work The Temple Sacred Poems. The soloist baritone takes a key role in these songs.
Elgar. Give unto the Lord:
This is Elgar at his most effusive, reverent, tuneful and extravagant. One of his most beloved pieces.
